I went by the seymour duncan schematic for installing them. 5 way switch seems to be working correctly. When installing it I checked all my solders and double checked them and all was good. Seems like they were, but I'm not sure now that they were. Then after a while I started fooling with the tone controls and I'm pretty sure they aren't doing anything. However, the middle pickup has quite a bit of volume by itself, more so than 2 and 4. I was attributing this to the fact that the middle pickup is set pretty low right now, since I haven't tweaked them at all after just putting them in place, basically. I mean, almost funny sounding but I really was liking it. This amp kind of shines on it's overdrive channel, so I tried that for a while and was really enjoying the sounds, being quite varied between pickups, particularly in the 2 and 4 position where it was extremely 'quacky'.

I played it through my little Sundown solid state amp and it sounded fairly good on the clean channel. So I put the Duncans/dimarzio in the new strat and finished soldering them in today. I didn't like the stock ceramic pickups in the new (to me) Strat, I had them in a cheapo squier just to check them out and they sounded good there.

I have a set of pickups: SD jbjr, SD lil59, and in the middle a Dimarzio area58. Just what I was looking for, though, neck is in great shape and it plays pretty well.
